- Today was my birthday and my first gift of the day was many, many mosquito bites. No West Nile though. . .
- Drove into the down of Escalante
- It had rained a lot the day before and the ranger station was giving out a high flash flood warning so we were not able to hike the slot canyons that we had come to explore
- Got a coffee and crossant and funky cafe in the small town
- Hiked the six mile Calf Creek trail to a desert waterfall that was 120 feet high. Went swimming in the splash pool at its base
- Drove to Capital Reef National Park and spend some time hanging out at another swimming hole/waterfall
- Drove to Goblin Valley State Park (one of my favorite places in Southern Utah) and did hour and a half hike amoung the hoodoos
- Ate my Birthday dinner at a truck stop in Green River Utah. Had chicken fried steak and lemon pie, it was great!
- Camped at Green River State Park
